Clausthal University of Technology (TUC) is an internationally renowned institution with strong regional ties. Founded in 1775 as mining academy the University has strong traditions of quality education recognised and valued by many national as well as international companies. Research and education at TUC are currently focused on raw materials and energy, materials science and engineering, as well as mechanical and process engineering, complemented by natural sciences and economics. TUC is core partner of the EIT RawMaterials, the German Resource Research Institute GERRI and the regional recycling cluster on critical metals REWIMET as well as member in the Operational Group of the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials.
